Building the Team

The ever-accelerating pace of change requires constant adjustment and learning for organisations and individuals to remain relevant and succeed. This requires a continuous learning approach to ensure the challenges of change are overcome and the opportunities are capitalised. In this course, participants will learn the importance of workplace learning, gain a continuous learning mindset and develop the ability to design and implement a range of development strategies for their team.

At the completion of the workshop, you will be able to:

  • identify and use techniques to identify the development needs of your team
  • begin to develop effective learning and development plans for your team members
  • understand more clearly how to effectively coach and/or mentor members of your team
  • begin to develop strategies to monitor and record the development progress of your team members and adjust strategies if necessary.

Leading a Team

Teams consist of a number of diverse individuals with different perceptions, assumptions, attitudes and values. Therefore, leading a team is often a very challenging task that requires a number of specific leadership skills in order to ensure success for both the organisation and the individuals. This workshop will provide participants with the knowledge and skills to effectively lead teams to ensure cohesiveness, cooperation, higher productivity and greater levels job satisfaction.

Outcomes for this course will help individuals to tailor their leadership style and communication methods to influence and motivate others to work together towards common goals.

At the completion of the workshop you will:

Introduction to Positive Leadership

This program is aimed at individuals, who are seeking to develop and enhance their awareness and foundational understanding of skills to develop and improve in positive leadership.

At the completion of the workshop participants will be able to:

  • Describe positive leadership
  • Describe leadership styles
  • Discuss authentic leadership.

Communicate with Influence

Leaders rely heavily on the commitment of team members to contribute to the achievement of organisational objectives. This commitment will result from the ability of the leader to provide direction, articulate the goals and vision and inspire team members to contribute to success. In this course, participants will learn how to communicate with influence and take their team members on a shared journey to success.

At the completion of the workshop, you will be able to:

  • describe the different types of power and influence
  • begin to articulate goals and objectives
  • identify and use the most suitable strategies to communicate with influence according to the circumstances
  • identify and use strategies to build trust.

Introduction to Coaching and Mentoring Skills

This program is aimed individuals, who are seeking to develop and enhance their foundational awareness and understanding of coaching and mentoring skills.

At the completion of the workshop participants will:

  • know how to use effective Active Listening skills
  • identify and set goals and objectives
  • understand how to provide constructive feedback

Introduction to Emotional Intelligence

People are emotional beings, and our decisions and actions are often based on emotion. This workshop will assist participants in gaining a greater awareness of their emotions and those of others and provide them with strategies to effectively manage these emotions. This will result in a greater understanding of self and others, more effective relationships, better decision making and greater levels of resilience.

Participation in this workshop will assist employees understand the concept of emotional intelligence and identify their own emotional intelligence level and those of others.

At the completion of the workshop, you will be able to:

  • describe the concept and elements of emotional intelligence
  • begin to identify your own emotional intelligence levels and implement strategies for improvement

This program is aimed at individuals who are seeking to expand their skill set in project management for their current role or in preparation for further. It aims develop and enhance their foundational awareness and knowledge of basic project management principles.

  • Describe the steps to developing a project plan
  • Describe principles and processes to manage project implementation
  • Identify and describe steps in closing a project

Introduction to Change Management

Develop an awareness in basic change management skills with the Introduction to Change Management short course. This program provides participants with a foundational awareness and understanding of basic change management skills.

At the completion of the workshop, you will be able to:

  • develop a basic plan for change
  • identify potential barriers and restrictions to change
  • describe strategies to reduce and minimise barriers and resistance to change.
